报告人简介：
Andrej Kos (andrej.kos@fe.uni-lj.si) is a professor at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering as well as the Head of the Laboratory for Telecommunications. He received his PhD at the University of Ljubljana from the field of telecommunications in 2003. He is a visiting professor at Technical University Graz and Bonch-Bruevich Saint-Petersburg State University of Telecommunications.Andrej Kos has been working in the field of ICT since 1996. He first specialized in network modeling, design and quality of service. Currently at the center of his work are broadband systems and services and applications of the Internet of Things.In addition to leading industrial and research projects, Andrej Kos leads the Commission for Innovations at the University of Ljubljana. He is a member of oversight committee of Agency for Communication Networks and Services of the Republic of Slovenia (Regulator for Telecommunications, Media, Post, and Railway).
报告内容：
The Internet of things embodies an innovative use of existing and new technologies to enable the digital transformation of the industry and society. It includes human to machine as well as machine-to-machine interactions. Added value is gained by big data analysis in all industry sectors. Applications based on the Internet of things are enabling new business models and solutions for smart cities, smart homes, energy networks, eHealth, communications and many other fields. Some outstanding use cases from different domains and scales will be presented. The digital transformation also brings the need for talents with knowhow, innovative-thinking and “ability to make” that fit the new industry era. Approaches we take at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in cooperation with companies will also be presented.
